BUILD ADVANCED CONTENT CREATION SKILLS AT NYFA

NYFA’s Masters of Arts in Film and Media Production (MA) is an intensive, one-year graduate program with a strong focus on film theory, concept, and content creation. The degree is a combination of production and theory classes where students study film production, the psychology of film, cinema studies, and contemporary media.

Students gain a high proficiency in the production process and in-depth knowledge of contemporary media formats. The Film and Media Production MA program is an excellent fit for students looking to strengthen their visual storytelling skills and master the changing formats of media production in today’s entertainment marketplace.

Curriculum

The MA Film and Media Production curriculum at NYFA’s Film School includes:

  • Robust coursework in classes such as Film Production, New Media, Screenwriting, The Psychology of Film, and Visual Aesthetics, and more
  • Required liberal arts classes that all relate to film and media, such as Cinema Studies, Media and Culture, and Principles of Visual Aesthetics
  • Hands-on, intensive production workshops where students build fundamental skills in content creation and digital filmmaking

The MA program’s goal is for students to develop a strong skill set in directing, producing, and cinematography.

Degree Deatils

NYFA’s Masters of Arts degree (MA) is a specialized one-year, three-semester degree program.

Students write, direct, and edit a series of their own films in various formats and genres, including a thesis project of up to 15 minutes in length. They also gain substantial production experience by collaborating on numerous classmates’ projects, working in roles such as cinematographer, gaffer, and/or assistant camera.

NYFA’s MA in Film and Media Production program is available at NYFA Los Angeles. As NYFA Los Angeles is centrally located next to Universal and Warner Bros. Studios, students may have the opportunity to shoot on the Warner Bros. backlot.
